THE CARE OF YOUR GARMENTS

When you're ready to give new life to an old piece of clothing,
you let the dry-cleaning professionals handle it - but how do they do it?

In order to clean and restore garments to a "like new" state, dry-cleaners use two basic steps... 1- soil removal and 2- finishing.   SOIL REMOVAL is accomplished by immersing the item in water or in a solvent to dissolve or flush-out any "dirt" present.   This process becomes most effective when combined with some type of mechanical action and/or a detergent aid.  The process of cleaning with solvents is generally referred to as DRY CLEANING.  Cleaning with water can be either LAUNDERING or WET-CLEANING.   Laundering is used to describe MACHINE WASHING in either domestic or commercial applications and wet-cleaning typically describes the HAND WASHING of garments in a professional cleaning facility.
